Confinement of the hole spin in stressed Ge-Ge1-xSix superlattices

The angular distribution of the Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations for a Ge-Ge^^Si^ periodic heterosystem, which exhibits a hole quantum Hall effect, has been studied for the first time. Specific elastic deformations in this system cause the oscillations of the magnetoresistance to depend on only the projection of the magnetic field onto the axis of the superlattice.
