Electromagnetic (Schwinger) scattering of fast neutrons in crystals

It is shown that for fast neutrons incident at a small angle (~ Γ) to the crystallographic axis of a perfect single crystal, the contribution to the scattering cross section due to electromagnetic interaction increases by several factors of ten, because of interference effects.
