The average precession time of 91Ir nuclei in a magnetic field, which are excited by means of Mossbauer absorption of γ rays, exceeds the average lifetime of these nuclei in the excited state, which is defined as r = ή/Γ. Allowance for the width of the exciting y-ray spectrum gives a g factor of the 129.4-keV level equal to 0.197 ± 0.018, in agreement with the data of other experiments.
