Scattering of phonons by Abrikosov vortex filaments in vanadium

The phonon component of the thermal conductivity is clearly identified in vanadium ( Рзоо^/р^2 к = 14.4) in the superconducting state (1.8-3 K). The scattering of phonons by vortices is inferred from the magnetic-field dependence of the thermal conductivity in the mixed state near HcX and the effective scattering cross section is estimated to be (о1 = 9.2X 10~7 cm, σ11 = 4.5X 10^7 cm).
