A scalar meson is a dilaton in QCD

A scalar meson/dilaton appears in QCD in a conformal bosonization of the generating functional of QCD for quark currents. The dynamics of ?r and σ mesons is described by an effective Lagrangian like that in the linear sigma model. The mass of the sigma meson is determined substantially by a gluon condensate.
