The emission cross sections for the characteristic χ radiation accompanying the capture of an electron by C6+ and Os+ nuclei in molecular hydrogen at a collision energy EQ = 0.6-8 keV/amu have been measured. It is shown that the electron is captured in a state of the C5+ and 07+ ions with large principal quantum numbers. This occurs when the population of states with different orbital moments is approximately uniform.
