Resonant self-trapping of hypersound
A strong hypersonic wave of frequency 9.4 GHz propagating through an A1203 crystal containing paramagnetic Ni3+ ions that have a strong elec-ron-phonon bond was observed to be self-trapped in the region of acoustic parametric resonance.
