Asymptotic freedom at large distances and the IR renormalon problem
Simonov Yu.A.
Perturbation theory is formulated in the cormnmg background1 field âÍ. All diagrams are gauge invariant and at large Nc limit depend on Βμ only through the Wilson loops W(C, Βμ). Assuming the area law for the latter one obtains the charge renormalization at large distances which yields behaviour α,(ρ) ~ 4ÔÇ[1Ð ^^"l"> where m is a process-dependent mass of the order of 1 GeV. Then for m >> Λ the asymptotic freedom persists for all Euclidean momenta and IR renormalons are shown to disappear.
